Peter Barnett
Peter Barnett is an experienced probity practitioner, having successfully worked on a broad range of complex engagements across all levels of government. He is a leader in the fields of complaint management and corruption prevention, previously holding senior roles in the NSW Police Integrity Commission for 19 years.
Peter has provided probity services to Local, State and Federal Government clients on a diverse range of engagements, including unsolicited proposals and sole source procurements. He has provided probity services in connection with more than 150 engagements, helping clients comply with relevant legislation and government policy and ensuring their procurement and grant activities are aligned with established probity principles. At times, this has involved assessing and resolving complaints made by vendors and others about the integrity of specific market engagements.
Before moving into consulting, Peter enjoyed a 28-year career in State and Federal Government agencies. In various roles, he provided high-level advice to senior government decision-makers on corruption, organised crime and terrorism risks.
Peter is an experienced presenter, having been a regular lecturer on NSW Police internal investigations training courses and delivered ethics training to the NSW Crime Commission.
